Members of the Mother and Child-Friendly Seal for Responsible Business Initiative are business entities working in the tea and tourism supply chain in Sri Lanka that have made a commitment to promote and strengthen the wellbeing of families and children impacted by their operations.
Upon signing onto the initiative, they first undertake a capacity self-assessment and select focus areas they want to focus on that prioritizes women employees and children. They make a pledge and commit to undertaking specific actions. After the first year of implementation, The Centre assesses interim progress and issues the Seal to the members. After the completion of the first two years, The Centre carries out an assessment of the impact of the actions undertaken by the company. Seal renewals are undertaken in two year cycles.
